Berg-Steinn is a positively sensitive young stallion with a good character, who needs more training to show his exceptional potential.

Berg-Steinn ist ein positiv sensibler, charakterlich einwandfreier Junghengst der noch weitere Grundausbildung benötigt damit er seine grandiose Veranlagung unter Beweis stellen kann.

How is Berg-Steinn as a riding horse?
Berg-Steinn wurde einige Wochen angeritten und zeigt sich genauso talentiert wie sein größerer Halbbruder, Thór-Steinn frá Kjartansstöðum (FIZO: 8,42 viergängig mit 9.5 für Tölt!), hat aber mehr Paßveranlagung geerbt. Er zeigte sich im Beritt kooperativ und fein, reagierte stets sofort auf die Hilfen und versuchte sie direkt umzusetzen. Er benötigt einen jungpferdeerfahrenen Reiter, der ihn durch Ausbildungswissen und reiterlichem Können dementsprechend fördert.

Berg-Steinn has been ridden for a few weeks and has shown to be just as talented as his older half-brother Thór-Steinn frá Kjartansstöðum (FIZO: 8,42 as a fourgaiter with 9,5 for tölt), but he is showing more pace. In training, he has been light and cooperative. He was very quick in his reactions to the aids and has tried to execute them quickly. He needs a rider who is experienced with young horses, who can bring him further through knowledge and equestrian ability.

What makes this horse so special?
Berg-Stein ist der Halbbruder (selbe Mutter) von Thór-Steinn fra Kjartansstöðum, welcher als Viergänger die sagenhafte Note von 8,42 in seiner FIZO-Prüfung erreichte, darunter die 9,5 auf Tölt!

Berg-Steinn is the half-brother on his mother’s side of Thór-Steinn fra Kjartansstöðum, who has reached the marvellous mark of 8,42 in FIZO as a fourgaiter. Among his marks is also a 9,5 on tölt.

Why is it time for you to part?
After 46 years, the famous farm Kjartansstaðir is closing its doors. All pastures and stables have already been sold and the horses have to leave the fields quickly (at the end of January 2021) In its long and successful breeding history, the farm has brought out 4 World Champions, a few Landsmótwinners, many participants at Landsmót, as well as a considerable number of horses with honorary prize for offsprings. Among them was also the first mare with the honorary prize for offsprings.

Nach 46 Jahren wird das renommierte Gestüt Kjartansstaðir aufgelöst. Alle Weiden und Stallungen sind bereits verkauft und die Pferde müssen die Wiesen kurzfristig (Ende Januar 2021) verlassen. In seiner langen und sehr erfolgreichen Zuchtgeschichte hat das Gestüt 4 Weltmeister, einige Landsmótsieger, sehr viele Landsmótteilnehmer und eine beachtliche Anzahl von Ehrenpreishengsten und Ehrenpreisstuten hervorgebracht, darunter auch die erste Ehrenpreisstute Islands
